Making the Scents in Your Home Appeal to Buyers

Pay special attention to the way your home smells. A bad odor, no matter how faint, can instantly turn off a buyer.

If there is a smoker in the home, make sure all the ashtrays are empty and some  room freshener is sprayed before showing your home.

On the other hand, certain smells make a home inviting and can bring a positive affiliation to the buyer's mind. The smell of warm cake, apple pie, or gingerbread coming from the kitchen would be the first thing they notice about the home when they walk in the door.

Some sellers have been known to keep small cookie sheets in the refrigerator with pre-cut cookie dough to pop in the oven right before showing their home. Another good idea for sellers might be to play relaxing music in the background.
