What About Repairs?

Homes just don’t get better on their own. From the day you move in, your home begins to slowly fade from its prime.
When you decide to sell your home, your buyers will make a thorough inspection before closing. Usually a trained inspection specialist will go through every element of your home. The inspection is not limited to the roof, air-conditioning, heating, electrical, foundation, and major plumbing. The inspection can cover everything in your home.
No matter how well-maintained you keep your home, inspectors will always find additional repairs that buyers will want to have fixed.
Mentally set aside a fixed amount of money that you are willing to use for repairs, then add 50%!
Once you get the inspection report from the buyer, don’t get upset or hide under a rock. If the report calls for $1,000 in repairs, and you are already willing to do $500 in repairs, don’t be “penny-wise and pound-foolish.”
Get on with the repairs.

Even if your lose this buyer, the next buyer will want the same repairs. Why not get them done the first time and save weeks or months on selling your home?
