Terez's Tips for Selling Your Home - part 1

Research
It is imperative that you know which way the market is flowing.  When there are MORE buyers than sellers, you are in a “Seller’s Market” and sales are brisk.  But when there are MORE sellers than buyers you are in a Buyer’s Market and the limited available and qualified buyers typically “rule the roost” as they negotiate from a position of supply and demand and power.  The market that existed just 30 days prior to today is no guarantee that it is the same today.



Scheduling Events
Sellers need to be aware of what needs to happen and by what date it needs to happen in order to insure that a scheduled closing occurs when indicated.  Sellers cannot rely upon buyers to do the right thing.  Sellers need to maintain a schedule of events for themselves as well as the probable buyer and then absolutely must follow-up to insure everything gets completed in a timely manner.



Preparing Your Home
When people sell their automobiles they oftentimes take their vehicle to a professional detailer yet when they sell a far more expensive commodity such as a home they rely on its present condition to sell the property.  Paying attention to its condition now can and probably will net you far more money than by not paying attention.  Consider hiring a professional cleaning and staging company to properly “stage” your home for a quick and profitable sale.
